Lisa Ashinoff. USA °1980
Lisa enjoys exploring the relationships between shape, form, color, line and perspective in her neo-geo-architectural abstract cityscapes.
Her style is influenced by the hard-edge movement. It combines clean lines and bold colors but places specific emphasis on brushwork and perspective distortion.
She sees the world operating simultaneously with both the dark and the light. The chaos she feels internally, and within the world, is demonstrated through her use of intersecting lines, fullness of color, and rhythmic sequencing.
At times she sees the chaos as jarring; at other times the chaos presents a symphony of systems and infrastructure. It’s this awareness that chaos and order can coexist in art and in life that creates an introspective arena for her work.
